FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Feaster.

Is my data private?

Yes. Feaster Desktop stores everything in a SQLite database on your machine and never transmits reading data without your explicit consent. There's no account, no cloud, no telemetry by default.

Does Feaster work offline?

Reading articles you've already fetched, editing KB entries, and changing settings all work offline. Fetching new articles obviously needs a network.

Can I import from another reader?

Yes — any OPML export from NetNewsWire, Reeder, Feedly, Inoreader, etc. imports cleanly. Folder structure is preserved as categories.

Can I export my KB?

Yes. Settings → Data & Privacy → Export knowledge base produces either a folder of Markdown files (one per entry, with YAML frontmatter) or a single JSON file.

Do you support Obsidian / Bear?

Native one-click "Send to Obsidian" and "Send to Bear" actions are coming as the first post-v1 milestone. The generic Markdown export already works with both.

Will there be an iOS app?

A separate iOS companion app is planned but not part of the v1 desktop release. Sign up on the mobile page to get notified.

How does pricing work?

14-day free trial with every feature. After that: $35 one-time for the v1.x line, or $20/year if you'd prefer annual. The Phase 2 hosted web app and cross-device sync are an optional Premium subscription.

What's "Mod"?

Cmd on macOS, Ctrl on Windows. Single-letter shortcuts (J, K, M) are the same on both platforms.
